Card Shark's Card Games For Kids

This has been a passion project of mine for a while and I'm so excited to call it done! I have a lot of great memories playing cards growing up. Whether it was a game of Speed with my sister, Gin Rummy with my dad or mom, or a fiery game of Nertz at a swim meet, cards were ever-present. With the emergence of the iPad though, I've seen less and less kids playing cards during down time. This book is my desire to get kids back into playing cards with their friends and building those fun interactions that comes from a little friendly competition.

While you can Google individual card games, in the spirit of staying as screen-free as possible, I wanted to write a kid-friendly book on how to play the most popular card games so they have it all in one place. I've also found that most descriptions of card games online are hard to follow (even as an adult) much less for a kid who is completely new to cards. The whole goal of this book is for kids to be able to pick it up, learn the card game on their own, and start playing with friends, no parental guidance needed.
The book is divided into Beginner Games, Medium-Level Games, and More Complex Games, and is also organized by number of players. So depending on age or experience, single player or large groups, any kid can find a game for them. I've also made sure to explain the very basics of cards so even someone who has never seen a deck of cards before in their life can pick it up.

The book is written with language easy for kids to understand and added visuals for the more complex card games. You can pair it with a cool deck of cards to make a great birthday gift, stocking stuffer, or vacation/travel day surprise.
